For everyone that was heartily annoyed by the fact that Jane Fonda was cast to play the part of Nancy Reagan in “The Butler”, there is a theater in Kentucky that definitely “gets” what you thought. Ike Boutwell, who owns the Movie Palace and Showtime Cinemas in Elizabethtown, refuses to show any film with Fonda in it. He is a Korean War veteran, and had trained many of the men that Fonda protested against in her younger years, so he refuses to put her face on his silver screens to this day.
Boutwell simply wants to stand by his convictions, and if any liberals were hoping that this would blow up in his face, that simply hasn’t happened. On the contrary, he’s ended up with quite a few messages of thanks and support on his business Facebook Page. Of course, Fonda had been warned that veterans would never forget, and obviously they haven’t, at least not in Elizabethtown, KY.
